Dear Sir,
Here is the oil leaking Problem Identifying Technique
Engine oil leaks from the valve cover gasket are common.
I think it helps to analyse u r Problem
If you have replaced the gasket did you tighten the bolts at opposite intervals as if you tighten them up 1 after another the sump will warp and might not seal properly also when doing a sump or any gasket use a sealing compound as well can also try cleaning engine sump and surrounding areas while the engine is hot then run car and check for leaks some time they are not always apparent could also be coming from rocker box gasket or any other gaskets and running down engine to sump hope this helps ivan
Tightening the bolt is not always the solution. Have you replaced the gasket at any point?
I would buy a new gasket and bolts also some high heat gasket silicone.
Make sure after dropping the pan, let it cool down, scrape off the old gasket and use some sand paper to make sure it is smooth and clean. wipe clean adding a bead of high heat gasket silicone.
Also make sure your pan is not cracked!!!!!
I drove up one of those steep driveways in a shopping center and I scraped my pan, scraped it so hard it dug small lined groves into the bottom of pan making a small leak which appeared to be coming form the bolts. There are no quick fixes for that, I had to buy a used pan from a local junkyard.
Good luck and hope this helped some.
Replace oil pan gasket or get new oversized oil pan nut or use pipe thread on the plug you already have
