Hi Stephen , do you have a check engine light lit ? Is the Temperature gauge showing that it over heating or hot ? Do you hear the cooling fans running ? They will keep running after the key is turned off if the engine is hot ! I have encountered this problem before where the ignition module was bad , but this is probably not the cause in your case ! The vehicle I found doing this only ran for 15 minutes an then died , then 10 or 15 minutes later it would start again. After the vehicle is started can you drive it without problems till you shut it off ? Can you drive it all morning or afternoon with no problems , just after you stop ?
Did you try the thermostat? Should be on top of the engine and fairly easy to replace.
Start with an error code if any read at your favorite auto parts store. How hot does it get? Possible so hot (cooling system problems) that the block sensor feeding the ECU is telling it there's a problem. A kind of safety system. Double check all cooling system components. Is the Water pump ok, or belt slipping? Battery and electrical system ok?

hey, im a usa sailor and i have also encountered this problem. how i fixed it.....,
you may be missing a little rod that attatches the handle from the cab to the crankcase. if you have that rod then see if the holes in the levers under the truck have little rubber grommets. these are what holds the rods in place.
if missing :
the rod......contact your nearest auto parts store preferably napa or autozone usually runs about thirty bucks at most
the rubber grommets.......usually any hardware store will have these for only four bucks

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a larrge hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is a housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that. Remove the 2 bolts an replace the thermostat. Unles your arms are very long and thin, you will probably need to do this from under the car.
Perfect time to flush/fill all coolant. Check and replace any needed hoses/clamps.

i had the same problem in a dodge ram pick up. ended up being the coil. when the coil got hot my truck would die or not start again until the engine had cooled down. replaced the coil, and whalaaaaah. no more trouble. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if i am not mistaken the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump. which requires you to drop the tank and replace both.

I have had to replace three of the four window power regulators in my 2000 Durango. They just seem to stop working within a year or two of each other.
