No engine stated, and is an engine question.
G16,J20, or H25?
1.6l, 2.0L or v6 ?
my guess, is you removed spark plug wires and put them back out of order, never do that, always change wires 1 by 1.
or the firing order will be wrong, (cops excepted, coil over plug)
how many coil packs do you have.
1
2
4
6?
we cant guess any of that.
It has 6 coil packs and no wires to replace and i'm sure i did'nt switch da wires around because the way its tied together
It has 6 coil packs and no wires to replace and i'm sure i did'nt switch da wires around because the way its tied together and engine is a 2.5liter
the h25/27 engine the V6, so... are fuses all good, ? and spark good, does CEL lamp glow key one, ? (cluster CEL lamp) (check engine lamp MUST glow, then we check for spark, got sparK, Y/n (doing spark tests on cop coils is not fun or easy but , it needs spark to run,,, if all that is ok, then test fuel runs, like this link shows.
the engine will run for 3 seconds even with the fuel pump relay pullled. see relay here, ?
are those stock spark plugs? or some odd kinda, are they gapped by you to the under hood, sticker, gap size? open hood , see that EPA sticker. it tells you that number.
if the engine floods , pull the relay , it will run on test fuel now on all cars, for 3seconds, if not spark is gone. oldest test it world on gas engines, (cept rely pull) if it dont run on test fuel then say so... we can work no spark ,easy, we connnect the scan tool and see , OMG, the CMP sensor wires were pulled. that is it, my guess, the CMP is on left rear cam, backside of head. if fiddled with, yoiu lost the timing,,,,, too. see the slot????
the funny thing here is that all scan tools work on 2001. and will tell you why it dont start. sure will.
that is the CMP, see that slot, did you fiddle that? if yes , the static timing on the engine is now wrong. in 2005 the slot was removed, (fixed) but not your car or mine, so fiddling here is bad, , got a timing light.? is car USA spec car? if yes, we and put in the freeze jumper and time it easy.
that is every step. (fuel good).... (engine good)
what we do is match mark all CMP sensors, first. then fiddle it. , if it dont run we put it back to the match markes, and bingo. mine is 5Degr. BTDC timed, the gap on mine is 0.39" the epa words to effect , timng is fixed at factory is bull, read the FSM and allsteps., I have full 2 volumn FSM from Suzuki,,
FSM plugs. NGK = IFR5G11 , the timing light set , is on page 1H-8 in the FSM, if you need that spec, act, i can send it. the car has and Under hood DLC connector and 2 pins you jumper , and this freezes timing, so it can be set correctly, (no scan tools needed in 2001 )
the history of all this is in the link above. (timing freeze history)
the EPA sticker is just to scare , DIY , people messing with it, and is bogus, as is most Gov, BS
my best, scan tool shows, P03xx errors. or you fiddled CMP
my bet.
if i say all you touched, id now.
Yes i did unplug the CMT now how do i find the mark and reset the timing
Ok so now how do i line up the slot and reset the timing?
the CMP cam sensor has a slot, see the photos? it must have the spark timing set using the freeze jumper pins (DLC) stated, this is true until 2004. on J20 or the H25 engin
here it is one more time, on all twin cam engines, he never said which engine so....
see the slot ? Bingo.. it dont just fall back to timed. by accident. not on any 2001 engine , this car.
here ill up load it for the , lazy. in 2005 on, this SLOT is GONE
11+ years ago, things were different. really.
left rear of cam (twin) on v6 its left head.
the freeze jumper on his car is , on left top strut tower. called DLC. others needing help? real help, state engine size. next time.
same on J18, same j20, G16's have diffr. history, ask.

SOURCE: engine doesn't start. Fuel, fuses, spark plugs,
have you tried checking compression? fuel and spark are good but if theres no compression you wont have anything
SOURCE: 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara cranks but won't start
use scantool to diagnose the problem... maybe some sensors don't work.
SOURCE: my suzuki grand vitara has hard starting
You need to have the dealer check the signal from the ECT sensor to make sure it is in range for the temperature of the coolant. This test requires a live data scan tool..
SOURCE: What is the labor rate to replace both valve cover gaskets on a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5liter
In the USA $300-350 labour. Parts about $50
