I have a 95 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 and It will not start without putting some fuel into the throttle body. Once started it will run. But when you let it stand and cool off it won t start again. I have replaced the fuel pump, changed out the throttle body and put different air box on and it still won t start without putting fuel into the throttle body. Could anyone help me out. The way you describe this problem the cause seems to be in the fuel system losing pressure. But even then, if you crank long enough it should start. Check your fuel pressure. It may be useful to check your fuel filter.

SOURCE: 99 tacoma

Still need the codes.
Injectors can go "bad" in a couple of different ways; all they are is an electromagneticaly controlled nozzle. When the ECU "fires" the injector, it pulses a ground circuit for 4-8 milliseconds, the electromagnet powers up, the valve at the bottom of the injector opens, and the fuel shoots out, under pressure. The wire can be bad/chafed/corodded/ The electromagnet may be weak. The nozzle may be stuck. Lots of things. But, to put in an injector for a number 4 cylinder misfire (p-0304 code) would be one of the last things that I would do.

SOURCE: 1995 Toyota camry Le 4C Missing Problem -

i have came across simler problems in the past so im going to give you a list of four main suspects number 1; a broken or pereshed vacuum hose at the trottle body or inlet manifold.2 a blocked injector 3 a fuel injection system fault 4 a disconnected /leaking or perished crankcase ventilation hose. Before you try any of these by a can of fuel cleaner and run it through your system remember a small piece of dirt half the size of grain of salt is enough to cause this problem good luck.adrian

SOURCE: 93 TOYOTA HILUX ( 22RE ) STARTS THEN STALLS AFTER 1-2 MINUTES

Try cleaning the throttle body.Check the air-gap for the pick-up coil inside the distributor assembly(use a brass feeler gauge)
Check valve clearances if needed(possible tight intake valve adj.)
Check base timing(follow instr. via under hood label)
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: cannot find the fuel pump fuse on 95 toyota tercel

Get a tester light and check all the fuses with the key on. If not I think it is the efi fuse. The fuel pump has a relay too. Pump is in the tank .

SOURCE: I have a toyota hilux 2.7 3rzfe engine.On start up

This was the first symptom that the head gasket was going on my hilux 2.7 3rzfe. Soon afterward I started getting the tell tale white smoke in the exhaust until the engine had warmed up and a noticable coolant loss... That can cause rough running until the 'leaky' cylinder has warmed up and dried out...

Have a 95 tacoma run normal when cold starts sputtering when warm

Don't know if this will help or not. I had a 1991 Camry that ran fine until it got warm. Would sputter and stall. I cleaned and messed with the throttle body adjustment until it ran OK. Can't remember what I did but there was some sort of adjustment on the throttle body. Good luck.

It sounds like your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is dirty and needs to be cleaned or replaced if too dirty. The IAC is located in the throttle body so it's an easy fix, Clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner paying attention to the IAC passage way in the throttle body. Make sure you use all of the throttle body cleaner and follow the instructions on the can. This should address the issue, Good luck and might as well replace the air filter too.

Is there any check engine lights on?The throttle position switch could be a problem, but so can fuel pressure.Fuel pressure is what I would check.Battery voltage and charging voltage needs to be checked,Battery voltage of course should be 12 volts. The charging voltage should be 13.65 to 14.25,and the battery cables cleaned real good and shiny.Does the vehicle start good,or drag when starting?See if auto zone will read the codes for you,and tell you what they are,but don`t purchase any parts until you come back to this site to see what the codes can actually mean.If the o2 sensor showed lean, then it is possible that the fuel pressure is low, fuel pump replacement will be a must. I hope this was helpful, but need information,so do these things and return to the site.thank you.

2001 toyota tocoma idle rought

I'm not a mechanic. I had a similar problem with Tacoma. Mine had an "idle adjustment" screw on the side of the throttle body. (It's inset and black). Mark the position of the screw and remove it counting the turns. (This is so you can put it back in at the correct setting). Once removed, clean the screw with carb cleaner. Pay special attention to the end the enters the throttle body. Spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body also. Replace screw to original setting. It worked for me. Good luck!
