Car was chokeing out when first started for few days was fine once it got going now wont start at all
If the engine is turning over and not starting there are many possibilities. If the engine will not crank over at all, then suspect a bad battery, bad battery positive or negative cables/connections, or a bad starter.
If the engine turns over but will not start the most common issues on this engine would be a failed ignition module, or coils, a bad fuel pump, or the engine timing has jumped. The fuel is simple to test if you have a fuel pressure gauge. If you don't you may need professional assistance at that point.
The ignition can be tested by removing the coil housing assembly from the top of the engine and using an old spark plug to check to see if you have spark. The side electrode must be grounded to the engine (this is critical). If there is no spark try all 4. If none of them spark you have a failed coil/ignition module, failed crankshaft position sensor or poor power or ground to the coil.
If you have fuel pressure and you have spark its time to bite the bullet and pull the spark plugs out of the engine to measure compression and leakdown. Compression typically ranges from 140 to 175 PSI on this engine. Measure all 4 cylinders, if all 4 are low, the engine has jumped time and the valves are likely damaged
