From about 1992 models, subject to geographic variations, the idle speed is preset by the engine management system and is not adjustable, though it might be possible with dedicated diagnostic equipment.

If the idle speed is not to specification and of the none-adjustable type there could be a fault or faults or adjustments could be required elsewhere; valve clearances for instance.

How to unlock a stuck steering lock on Toyota verso, (use box key)everything on vehicle was tested.

Hi, I seem to have the same problem with my Corolla verso 2004. The steering lock doesn't disengage and the car won't start even though the immobiliser light stops flashing. Have you managed to get it sorted?
Thanks

***** Update**** In the end I did manage to get my problem fixed. It had nothing to do with the key. The problem was a faulty connection in the immobiliser motor that sits on the steering column, It wouldn't disengage. Our mechanic checked and repaired the motor and now the car works fine. It's a very rare fault apparently.

Normal idling speed

A manual transmission is about 400 RPM and and automatic is about 700. When you put the automatic in gear it will drop by about 200. When the engine is cold you can be about 1100.

'03 Toyota Corolla 1,4 VVT-i 4ZZ engine idle rpm

Idle is factory set and cannot be adjusted, your best bet is checking for cracked hose pipework for air intake at idle,(not at problem under exceleration and driving) Any slight upset to the air /fuel ratio will be most prevelent at idle speeds.Check hoses where the meet metal flanges on manifold intakes and any sharp bends in ppipes.Good luck
