Hi Paul,If you can unplug the fan connector, and use jumper wires from the battery, the fan should spin. if not,it's the fan that's faulty.if it spins w/12 volts applied, trace the wiring. Best O' Luck

My Toyota hiace commuter 06 is overheating but no visible watter leeks to be found..the engine is working good so I don't think is the head gasket..any advice?

if it has a conventional fan driven by the belt , replace the viscous fan hub ( fan clutch)
if electric fans . fuses, relays and water coolant temp sensor to be checked
if the over heating occurs at stop lights , slow moving traffic, hard pulls in low gears , and you have a viscous fan hub , it will be the hub

1996 toyota hiace disel engine. it overheating I inspected the hoses, radiator, water pump, to see if any water coming out but non, expect the recovery bottle outlet hose, water comeing out of it. it run...

if the water in your radiator or reservoir is boiling means your cars engine auxilliary cooling fan is not perfectly working enough to dissipate heat inside the radiator( heat exchanger) check cooling fan if its silicone oil filled if its rotating free and no resistance then remove fan and refill silicone oil/ if its equiped with electric fan then fan motor is busted
