Solenoid for my 1997 slx Acura , could that be why I am having trouble with my transmission

acura transmissions are only good for about 100k miles

if it has a transmission dip stick , in through the dipstick tube
if no dip stick it is a sealed system and only accredited transmission shops can check and fill the transmissions

only pay scrap value for it as the transmission will cost up to $3000.00 to replace
There may be nothing wrong other than pump and solenoids but the worst case is the bearings and gears will be damaged requiring a replacement transmission and you will need a service exchange transmission
personally I would walk away from the deal unless it is dirt cheap

Sounds like a bad fuse. If you installed your own stereo then it could be an issue with your hot wire shorting out the system.

if it has a dipstick like the engine dipstick you fill it through that tube with a small funnel or the like......hope this helps....cheers.

it is a sealed tranny u check it by putting it on a flat surface and let it idle in park there will be two plugs on the tranny like a differancal would have pull the top one out and if a little comes out slowly it is fine if not fill it

the code p 0740 refers to torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid ---circuit malfunction===causes --wiring--TCC-- ECM /? TCM ( transmission control module
it is not a transmission problem so leave it alone
it is an electronic control problem so check wiring and connections and if it is either the solenoid or the TCM replace what is faulty
take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist shop have an tranny oil change done , have the bands and clutch pack s adjusted and have them check the TCC solenoid and TCM for correct operation
probably find that there will be an improvement in the fuel consumption after that

Check connections to make sure they are free of corrosion and tight, including connection at starter. If all connections are tight and clean, check the battery. Even if it's new, there is a chance you purchased a defective one. You can bring it to a parts store for a free check. If it checks out ok, you may have a starter problem. Pull it, and again, bring to the parts store, they can check its' condition off the vehicle to see if it's operating properly,
