Detailed instructions on front bumper removal. NOTE: From all the videos, it appears the CAB is different than the sedan. An example is the grill does NOT come up with the hood.

Remove wheels. Remove fender liners front. Remove three nuts per side from inside fender wells. Remove fog lamp grilles. Remove vertical bolt just inside grilles--pointing up. Remove two screws per side under hood near front of fender. Put milk crate under front bumper. Remove belly pan first. Slide bumper forward onto milk crate, disconnect headlight washer line at quick disconnect if so equipped. Disconnect fog light connectors. Remove bumper.

How do you remove a headlight 'assembly' (not the

You have to remove the front bumper cover. Put the car on jack stands (the front) and remove the inner fender plastic. You'll need a long extension and a 10mm socket to remove the nuts and bolts holding the bumper cover in place. Once the cover is off removal of the headlight becomes obvious.

Cant remove the headlight assembly from a 1998 Ford Escort Coupe ZX2 to replace with a new one

You have to basically remove the bumper cover in order to do this.
You will need a 10mm socket with a couple extensions and a phillips screwdriver.
First remove the plastic shield inside the wheel well using the phillips screwdriver.
There are 3 10mm bolts that have to be removed the attach the bumper cover to the fender. The first one is just inside the newly uncovered hole. For the other 2 you will need the extensions. They are located all the way back in the hole beside the headlight assembly. If you look in with a flashlight You will see 3 bolts down in there. One of them will have a 1/2 inch spacer on it. Do not worry about this bolt, it holds the header panel on. The other 2 bolts are the ones you need to remove. Once this is done, if you need to remove the bolts under the hood that hold the bumper cover on the header panel. You should now have adequate movement to move the bumper cover out of the way of the 3 10mm bolts on the headlight assembly that were blocked.

you dont need to disconnect battery, just remove the front grill as there is a bolt hiden behind that, there is a bottom bolt on the lamp and you may need to drop the bumper slightly to get to this, this is easy just remove the 2 crosshead screws by the wheel to drop the bumper slightly.

I have a 93 escort wagon , that i love... it was hit in an accident... i bought a liitle parts car an need to replace parts.... does anyone have auto body part on the manuel?

I have done this for years and am familiar with these cars. The first thing to do is cut in your parts, by that I mean paint the inside edges of your door, fender and hood before you install them. The hood is a no brainer. four bolts probably ten millimeter. The fender is not very hard either, remove headlight and side marker and front bumper. The door needs to be disconnected under the dash and the wires pulled out before removal. Install the door and adjust it till it fits and closes properly, then the fender by lining up the body line before tightning into place. Before putting in the bolts along the top install your hood and align it with the back of the cowl so that it is even gap all the way across then adjust fender gap and tighten down. This will work perfect if your inner structure has not been bent or knocked over. Be glad to help further if you need it
