SOURCE: 2006 Toyota Tacoma V6 engine oil sensor location

There is not enough flow at the sensor for a second oil filter. The sensor is at a dead end in the oil gallery. I recommend that you persue other options here. If you are concerned about oil contamination, don't be. There is nothing better than the factory filter...Look into adding more oil capacity; Look into an engine oil cooler; there is really no need for a second filter.

Stock the car doesn't come with an oil pan gasket but you can order one from rockauto.com you don't have to remove the A/C compressor for any of the jobs you listed. If you want to change the timing belt you need to remove the plastic rock guard under the motor on the passenger side. remove the spark plugs and using the socket turn the engine from the crankshaft clockwise until you are at TDC on #1 cyclinder. (compression stroke) Next remove the upper and lower plastic timing belt covers. The idler pulley is the one with the spring. Loosen the nut and remove the spring then you can remove the timing belt. It really isn't that hard to do. Maybe one afternoon.

I see oil residue on the front bottom left of my engine.could it be my oil pump leaking or is it my gasket from a different part?

it is not your oil pump, as your oil pump is internal, it could be the oil pan gasket or the oil filter, try getting under the vehicle with a torch & having a good look to see where the leak is,when you know exactly where it is leaking you may be able to solve the problem, firstly determine if it is engine oil or transmission oil or power steering oil ETC.......hope this helps.....cheers.

I have a 2006 toyota tacoma with a sealed tranny. what should i do if i accedentally pull the tranny plug instead of the oil?

You don't have a tranny plug. The oil plug is on the oil pan for the engine, and the transmission is just a pan.

Oil pan removal 3.7

a lot tougher job than in the old days!

The engine oil pan is made of laminated steel and has a single plane sealing surface. The sandwich style oil pan gasket has an integrated windage tray and steel carrier. The sealing area of the gasket is molded with rubber and is designed to be reused as long as the gasket is not cut, torn or ripped

1.) Disconnect negative battery cable.
2.) Remove the radiator fan
3.) Remove the intake manifold you need to do this to install the engine support tool
4.) Install engine support Tool #8534 Do not raise engine at this time but make sure it is tight!
5.) Remove the structural cover
6.) Remove both left and right side engine mount through bolts
7.) Raise engine to provide clearance to remove oil pan.
8.) Drain engine oil and remove oil filter
9.) Remove the oil pan mounting bolts and oil pan.
10.) Unbolt oil pump pickup tube and remove tube and oil pan gasket from engine.

NOTE:Do not pry on oil pan or oil pan gasket. Gasket is mounted to engine and does not come out with oil pan.

reverse to install
do not over tighten bolts
follow normal torque sequence but here's a pic just in case

Can i drop the oil pan and or change the oil pump with out pulling the engine?

Bearings are located at each "big end" of every connecting rod (the rod that connects each piston to the crankshaft and at each crank support (part of the engine block) To measure wear on a bearing you need something called "plastigage" which is placed betweenthe bearing surface and the crank, the cap re-torqued then removed. You then measure the spread of the gauge material with a micrometer. If you remove any bearing and see brass backing instead of bearing material, you don't need to measure it...It is gone. You need to check all the bearings in this manner. If any Main bearings are worn, the engine needs to be removed as that is the ONLY correct way to replace them without having another immediate failure.
I'm not saying this to be insulting, but if you need to ask where the bearings are, it is likely you should not be doing this work. Though it appears to be a "take out, put in" operation, it takes experience and skill not only to do the job correctly but to recognize things inside that can bite you in the **** if they are not taken care of.
One other item....If you don't understand this answer do not rate it.
I only am a beginner (40 years in repair, many spent building 7,000 hp race engines) so, I'm not very sure about the answer (if you believe that, monkeys will fly tomorrow!!!) We do this free and really don't need a poor rating for a perfectly good answer!!!
Good luck!

2003 Toy Tacoma transmission pan have a gasket

There is a gasket supplied when you buy the transmission filter for all transmissions that your vehicle would have came with. You don't want to be using that stuff on a transmission pan, as a replacement for a gasket. I would wonder if the filter was changed?

I need to know how to change the oil

Changing oil is really easy and i do not know if you have done this before so i will walk you threw compleatly. step1 jack the vehicle up and support it with jackstands before you get underit.
Step 2. Get a good oil Drain pan
3. remove the plug on the bottom of the oil pan and drain the oil in to the drain Pan caution make sure engine is not hot as the oil will burn you severaly.
4. locat your oil filter and remove and alow do drain in drain pan
5 grab the new filter and put a light coat of oil on to the gasket and screw on to your engine as tight as you can by hand now grab the oil filter wrench and turn only 1/4 of a turn tighter.
6. install drain plug back into engine oil pan and tighten down with wrench.
7 fill engine with proper oil viscosity example 5w-30 and the proper amount both can be found in owners manual.
8. start engine and look for leaks if no leaks are presant take car of of jack stands and enjoy you Well done job
hope you find this usefull
