The question is worded in such a way to be open to misunderstanding. I feel it could mean Norah must spread her stone at the rate of 2/3 of a ton per square yard across 4 square yards and the total is sought.
It could also be saying that Norah has 2/3 of a ton to be divided equally across 4 square yards and is seeking the amount of stone each square yard needs.

In the former case it is a matter of multiplying the vulgar fraction by four and in the latter case the answer could be approached by considering the total amount of stone given is four times the answer that is required and so would be given by dividing 2/3 by 4/1 or more simply by multiplying by 1/4 and not forgetting to cancel the resulting fraction down to the lowest common denominator.

A better way for practical purposes would be to convert 2/3 of a ton into pounds and then divide by four. A workman required to do the work would not be messing around with fractions but would be working in pounds and tons or if using Imperial measure it would be pounds, stones, hundredweight and tons.

HOW MANY KG IN 9 TON

Hi Kevin Be careful as there are two units for Ton I.e. Tonne

One is a British Ton ( imperial) one is a metric Tonne American.
The British Ton is equal to1,016.047 kg x 9 = 9 Ton
The American Tonne is equal to 1000kg x 9 = 9 Tonne
If you need to be accurate do the sums however if an approximation works 9000kg = 9 ton

How many yards in a ton?

As a rule of thumb, you can multiply the cubic yards by a factor of 1.4 to get tons. But remember, yards is a measure of volume where tons is a measure of weight. Thus, depending upon the material being calculated, true weight can vary greatly. Obviously a yard of wet sand will weigh far more than a yard of dry sand, as water is more dense and has more weight than the sand it displaces in the volume. Large crush stone may weigh far less than pea gravel for the same volume as there is less air gap around the gravel than there is around the large crush. If you need a true weight of a yard of some material, you would have to know its weight in a particular volume and then calculate from that value.

How many tons are in 941.39 yards

Ton is a unit of mass (or weight), yard is a unit of length. There is no direct conversion between them.

Do you mean 941.39 cubic yards? If so, cubic yards of what? 941.39 cubic yards of water weighs about 720 tons. 941.39 cubic yards of lead weighs about 8160 tons.
