SOURCE: What Happens When a Map Sensor Goes Bad on 2001

Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor controls fuel delivery and ignition timing, the pressure in the intake manifold will vary due to stress or work load, the MAP sensor monitors this, reporting to the computer. Good luck.

SOURCE: How hard is it to replace the MAP sensor on a 2001 dodge durango?

VERY SIMPLE!!!!!

4.7L The MAP sensor is located on the front of the intake manifold. An O-ring seals the sensor to the intake manifold.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
  2. Clean area around MAP sensor.
  3. Remove 2 sensor mounting bolts.
  4. Remove MAP sensor from intake manifold.
To Install:
  1. Clean MAP sensor mounting hole at intake manifold.
  2. Check MAP sensor O-ring seal for cuts or tears.
  3. Position sensor into manifold.
  4. Install MAP sensor mounting bolts (screws). Tighten screws to 3 Nm (25 inch lbs..) torque.
  5. Connect electrical connector.

Location of oxygen sensor for 2000 dodge durango 4.0 4wd xlt?

There are 2. One is located above the catalytic converter most likely near the exhaust manifold where it attaches to the head. the second and most common one I have found to go bad is the down flow sensor located after the catalytic converter before the muffler on the underside.

the message is appearing because a sensor in the transmission, usually in the transmission fluid, detects higher than normal temperatures which is usually a result of increased friction which isnt good. I would get the sensor checked before you get the transmission worked on.
