Check for broken timing belt. Put a screew into spark plug head put the other end close but not touching to a metal engine part. have some one check for spark while you turn over engine. if thei is no spark check with distributor cap off if the rotor rotates when engine is being tuned over. if not then check timing chain. Good luck.

2000 chevy silverado v6 vortec engine, died driving, changed fuel pump, plugs wires, etc. and still wont start. ever heard of that

1st, check to see if the fuel pump runs for 3 seconds when you turn the key to run (not start). If it doesn't run, then check the fuel pump fuse & relay in fuse box under hood, if OK, (spray starting fluid in the intake to see if engine fires at all), if no fire then look towards the ignition as the problem. There are 5 things need to start an engine: 1. fuel (delivered & pressure), 2. air, 3. spark (distributor/ignition module or pickup coil), 4. rotation & timing, 5. compression. any of these that are wrong or not there, the engine fails.

Chevy express 1500 will n ot start, fuel pressure good 60 psi! The coil is sparking good! the engines turn over strong. it seem to do this whenever it rain!

check for spark at the spark plugs, there have been a lot of trouble with the distributor caps and rotor. Be sure it has the correct AC Delco spark plugs and good wires. Be sure to use AC Delco or GM parts.

2000 chevy express 1500 van having starting issues

Start with fuel system. Listen for fuel pump humm at fuel tank No humm check wiring to pump for power. Then check for spark at plugs and wires. Remove wire from coil and hold near engine and see arch when you crank. No arch. Replace ignition Modular inside distributor cap or cap or rotor

Won't start, fuel pump runs at key on, spark at coil wire into distributor is yellow, little or no spark at plug wire ends

Sounds like bad distributor cap or rotor. If ones bad, might as well change both. Take off the cap and if there is a black color on the ends of the prongs, or on the end of the rotor, time to replace. Is it getting fuel into motor?

93 chevy g20 van

More than likely it's the distributor. They have a tendency to build up corrosion and rust and have personally went through the same situation three weeks ago on a suburban. Check to see if you are getting spark from the distributor first. Have the ecm in the distributor checked at Oriellys for free. It's under the rotor and has two 8mm head bolts with wires plugged in at each end.
