The Honda D16Y8 is a 1.6L D16y8 was running one minute took off to plug wires an dizzy cap checked button put back together and now it just cranks no start fuel good, spark Good. not tach gauge help?

If your D16Y8 engine was running and then stopped after you took off the spark plug wires and distributor cap, there could be a few possible causes for the engine not starting now.
  • The timing may have been disturbed when you removed the distributor cap and wires, causing the engine to be out of timing. You should check the timing and make sure it's set correctly.
  • The distributor rotor or cap may be damaged or worn, preventing spark from reaching the spark plugs. Replace the rotor and cap if necessary.
  • The ignition module or coil may be faulty and not providing spark to the spark plugs. Check the ignition module and coil for any signs of damage or wear.
  • The crankshaft position sensor (CKP) may be faulty and not providing the proper signal to the engine control module (ECM), preventing the engine from starting. Check the CKP sensor and wiring for any signs of damage or wear.
  • The engine control module (ECM) may be damaged and not providing the proper signals to the ignition and fuel systems, preventing the engine from starting. In this case, the engine control module needs to be replaced.
It's also worth to mention that the tachometer gauge is not related to the engine starting, it's more of an indicator of the engine RPM, if the engine is not starting the tachometer won't work, so don't worry about it.
I recommend that you have a professional mechanic check your vehicle to determine the exact cause of the problem and make any necessary repairs.

I have a 1993 gmc 1500 350 tbi engine.I need to no if the rotor on the disturber points to the no.1 cylinder or the no.1 on the disturber cap when installing the disturber.please help

Your supposed to make a mark all that before you pull the distributor. Did you mark the relationship between distributor body and engine? Then you note where the rotor is pointing, make a scratch mark. When you reinstall the distributor, line up all the marks.

If engine was turned with distributor out, You need to put the #1 piston on tdc of compression stroke. Stab the distributor, which ever spark plug tower the rotor is pointing at/turning into, becomes number 1. Then you follow the firing order around the cap in clockwise direction.

Engine turns over but wont start fueel pump works change fuel filter

Check the spark. If there is no spark could be module in under distributor cap rotor some times moister and frost kills them. Check the coil after that if those are all-right check the computer.

Impala 2002 stalls when driving now white exhaust when starting it, any ideas

white exhaust is caused by moister i9n the engine. if it smells like burnt coolant it is a coolant leak that can be a faulty head gasket. If the white exhaust is not very heavy and only a faint soke for a few minutes, there is nothing to worry about. Engines when ran and get to operating tempretures (195 degrees) normally burn out all moister. If the engine is ran for a very short time then shut off, moister does set in and will cause this smoke you see

My chevy 1500 cargo van wont star when it rains but will when it doesent rain , but now it wont, i can hear fuel pump working but still wont start?is there a in line gas filter an could that be the...

It should have an in line fuel filter, it will be located on the inside of the frame rail same side as the tank. Also it might have a hairline crack in the distributor cap witch lets moister get inside it and that will make it hard to start when its raining.
