The multipurpose switch has separate circuits for the front and rear.

There could be a fusible link under the hood off the starter relay that is burnt out.

I think I have found the problem. When I wiggle the ignition switch the turn signals and radio go on and off so I feel the issue is in the ignition switch. From what I understand the actual electronics for the switch are at the base of the sterring column behind the lower dash panel and is connected by a rod that may need adjusting.

If it is the blinker switch why do I not have brake light on right rear side as well as no turn signal

The brake light circuit runs through the blinker switch, which is how the turn signal is able to override the brake light.

Right and left brake light out but center brake light ok on 2000 merecury moutaineer

Have you tried replacing the bulbs? The two side lights run through the turn signal switch so if they aren't getting power, chances are your signal switch is bad. Do your front blinkers work? Do the rear lights come on when you use the blinkers or the hazards?
