A proper tech diagnosis is needed here. If the recall was to fix the defective ignition switch, and it worked fine up until now, i imagine you got a really bad deal from your dealer. I would definitely call the shop where you had work recently performed to see if they will help you out. They might actually come and tow your car back to get the job done right if you play your cards right.
Do a little research on the ignition switch problem online. There are a few repair kits out there that actually work better than the dealer parts. saturnfans.com has he recall topic on their front page.
