Just got this used Kia. replacement belts water pump timing belt kit crank bolt and crankshaft pulley also crankshaft sensor refilled coolant new thermostat the heater at idle gets cooler but give it little throttle heat gets hot just thinking maybe vac leak? Vac heater door shutting off? Maybe air in heater core needs to be bleed out but I get great heat on the hiway so I think heater core is good maybe you guys ran into this thank you for your help
Air in the system need to bleed it,do you know how to do this.
Testimonial: "I will try to bleed it hard to remove heater hose at fire wall do you think hose at top of thermostat remove I can bleed it there? Thanks"
all you have to do to bleed it is remove the expansion bottle cap, press both the top hose then the bottom hose at your radiator that will force the air out of your expansion bottle .you will see the air coming out in the bottle.now turn your heating on full.with your cap still off turn on your engine running on tick over .top up your bottle when needed with a 50/50 antifreeze mix
run the engine till hot air is coming out. if it does not do so then you have a blocked core so will need a radiator cleaner to clean both the dirt and rust
