New battery fuses good, tank full of gas, fluids good, just wont run. its does have a fuel shut off switch somewhere.relay switches good smell gasoline when trying to start it. could be something in fuel line or pump.i mean i was driving 20 to 30 miles per hour truck acted like it wanted to die pulled over gave some gas sounded better then moved about ten feet lost all power, got jump start lights came on but engine not cranking . put on new battery will crank but not start
SOURCE: shuts off while driving. no fuel pressure. pcm fuse blows/ fuel pump relay inserted.
Sounds like the fuel pump is shorted.
SOURCE: 2003 focus engine died.
This exact same thing happened to me....it ended up being the Mass Airflow Sensor. Replaced that and it has not happened since.
SOURCE: 95 dakota cranks but wont start
Well I'm a chrysler master tech & this is a little odd. There's alot of things not in the question so here are mine. I'm assuming it's a 3.9 no 4wd. When did this happen? When you check for power do you have some one turn the key on while you check? If still no power then make sure all the fuses are good from the one under the hood to the one inside the cab. Next be sure to check the grounds. You'll need to by a manual like a Haynes in order to get a decent wiring diagram. In a worst case senario the main power box under the hood has an issue & the asd relay gets no power, hence no start. Ran into it on a 95 caravan & it took a week to figure it out & no replacement was available & I had to hard wire it so it would run. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: fuel pump wont run with key in on position but
first thing to check power at the plug at the pump itself if you have 12 volts there, make sure the ground wire has a good connection at the frame rail,if thats good the pump wire that runs thru the fuel pump hanger maybe broken
