Start the car, hold brake with left foot, rive the motor up with right foot, ease the gear down and take off.
The car can have fault codes in the ECU even if the check engine light is not on. Use a scanner to get the codes.
What do you mean, ease the gear down. That suggest you are refing before you place the selector in drive, and then trying to select drive and take off withoutt releasing the brake...in effect you are lugging and stalling the engine maybe. Try holding brake with foot off gas. Next Select Driive. Next release brake and then gently press gas until car moves. Then just drive. The only easing should be with the pedals, not witth the transmttion selector handle.
