Unless your trailblazer is all wheel drive, the transfer case lever may inadvertently be placed in neutral. If not I would guess the transmission pump has failed or a major mechanical failure within the transmission.

    How will I know it if stuck in neutral or that pump is out

  • old fart58 Jan 03, 2015

    Does the floor have an additional lever with 2WD HIGH 4WD High/4WD Low and N between 2WD high and 4WD high? Make sure it is in 2wd high. If no lever is present there may be a push button on the dash, try those for proper engagement. Maybe a trip to the transmission shop to check pump pressure.

SOURCE: when i put my car in reverse it won't move but will drive forward perfect and is full of transmission fluid

Assuming this is an automatic transmission, odds are you have lost a band in your transmission, this will require a rebuild,  you may also notice it will fail to shift into high gear as well?

SOURCE: MY TRUCK WILL GO INTO REVERSE BUT NOT INTO DRIVE?

fisrt gear clutch is burned out , if you push the truck with a car up to 30 mph and drop it into drive you will get 2nd and 3rd , but when you stop you have nothing. if first gear clutch burns up you don't get any forward gears.

SOURCE: chevy avalanche transmission problems

Hello;
Are you getting the check engine light? If so the electronics may have gone out. You may not need a rebuild but you won't know till you pull the oil pan on the transmission and inspect the contents. You may also have lost the neutral safety switch. It is mounted on the drivers side of the transmission. Check those out first and let me know what codes you get.
For Ponchoboy; the clunking and hissing you hear are teminal root causes. Drop the oil pan and if it has a lot of filings and metal it is time for a rebuild.
Hope this helps; Rate me highly;

On an 02 Chevy Trailblazer what would make it stop taking gear no reverse no drive no nothing

There are a few potential causes for this issue in a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, including:
  1. Transmission issues: The transmission may be damaged or malfunctioning, causing it to not shift into gear. If this is the case, it will likely require professional repairs or a replacement.
  2. Shift solenoid failure: The shift solenoids control the movement of fluid in the transmission, and a failure of one or more of these solenoids can cause shifting problems, including not being able to engage any gears.
  3. Electrical issues: The transmission may not be receiving the correct electrical signals from the transmission control module or other components, which can cause shifting problems. This could be due to a problem with the wiring, connections, or other electrical components.
  4. Low fluid levels: If the transmission fluid is low, this can cause shifting problems, so it is a good idea to check the fluid levels and add more if necessary.
  5. Clutch or pressure plate problems: If the clutch or pressure plate is damaged or worn, this can cause shifting problems, including not being able to engage any gears.
If you have checked the linkages and fuses, and are still experiencing the issue, it is recommended that you have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic to diagnose and repair the problem.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer transmission shifts but at High RPM's

have a pressure test done on the transmission to check for internal problems. run fault codes to check for TCM and other related faults. Have a band and clutch pack adjustment done . If it all checks out but the problem persists then you may have to consider a removal and overhaul option.

2004 Chevy trailblazer won't shift out of first

Have you checked transmission fluid recently. If the levels are low and/or if the dipstick smells burnt, there is a good chance your transmission is shot. Check it out & let me know; may have another idea if the fluid level checks out.

Service four wheel drive light is on, what does that mean?

Your transmission/transfer case needs to be flushed and the fluid replaced along with any needed screens or filters that are recommended by GM.
Your owners manual should have info on the manufacturers reccomendations.

My key wont turn off after i put my 2004 chevy trailblazer in park

your shifter linkage may need adjusting at the mounting point on the transmission. it may be off a little making the car's computer think you're still in reverse.
