I am guessing that it is an automatic? If so it sounds like A: that linkadge needs adjusting and to be greesed or B: that trannsmission is on its last leg. That will usually be one of the last signs before it wont even move. I had yhe same problem in an old '87 Jetta. Other than a new tranny sorry for not being able to help more. Good luck.

Automatic transaxle issues on 95 Saturn sl2. I

saturn was never the best model of car sold! amazed it has lasted this long. sounds like a re-build (not worth it)- possibly a 're-built' replacement. labor would prob. cost more than tranny! prob. need axles & bearings replaced as well. part it out and get a newer compact ford, or toyota product!! good luck!

Something knocking in a steering system on my 98 civic

Suspect worn outer cv joint. Check the boot for any tears, damage or leaking grease. If these are present your cv joint will fail soon if it hasn't already. If you put the car into reverse and turn the wheels to a hard lock a bad cv joint will make a popping grinding type sound. Try left and right turns when doing this test.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

Weird noises in drive and reverse

The high pitched whine in reverse sounds normal for a honda. Ever honda I have had makes a similar noise while in reverse. The spinning, scraping noise in drive is not normal. You might want to see a mechanic about that.

Changed timing belt on 95 honda civic

check your oil make sure the crank seal is ok that u didnt spill ur oil and blow it up. then check the timing belt - you may not have had the tension tight enough on the timing belt and it may have skipped a bit causing it to not fire. i think thats the most likely.
