Wrench light on when temp is under 70 degrees outside. Weird, right? If it's warm out, light does not come on.mmwhat gives? I know it must be power train issue.
There is probably a scanner which can diagnose this. It would be more elaborate than the 100-200 dollar units.
There is a sensor which prevents the transmission from shifting into final drive until the engine warms up. Could be the wrench light is telling you that it is missing this signal or the signal values do not match specs.

If anything they should not charge you for a bad guess. Let the dealer try to resolve this and if you don't get satisfaction ask for an appointment with the factory representative. Sometimes a fresh eye from another mechanic will help.
