Blew fuse installing radio. Now car won't start
Check for another blown fuse. The one on the back of the radio isn't the only one. Engine control fuse blown?
This is not good. Look for a fusable link under the hood. This is a safety device that will melt the link in case of a short. This device protects the electrical system when you do something wrong. Look for a wire that is partially melted or completely gone. That's where you will find the link. Now, the hard part is finding out what happened. Did you short something out? Better take a close look at all the work you were doing and see if you crossed any wires. Good luck.
SOURCE: AC fuse keeps popping
Put a set of gauges on your system and check the pressures with engine/AC running. If the pressures are the same on both low/high sides, your compressor is shot.

you can try to get the serial number off the radio and call the dealership up for the code

It sure sounds like a short in the left signal circuit. I can't say where the wires are routed but you may have one with failed insulation or pinched under some hardware.
You could avoid repeated fuse replacement if you buy a cheap digital multimeter from Radio Shack (if you are in the US) or alternately, from an auto parts store. One adequate for this would be under $20 US.
Some have a continuity checker that sounds a 'chime' that stops when the resistance level rises a bit.
Since the meter could be damaged if the short clears, it would be smart to disconnect the negative side (ground) of the battery.
Putting the probes across the fuse contact will simulate the fuse for this checking but it will not let your signals function.
I would punch the probes into the fuse holder, put on the left turn signal and start removing bulbs and checking the routing of the wiring.
When the chime stops, you have found the culprit.
SOURCE: Car alarm stopped working.. Car wont start
the jetta has a faulty alarm system from the factory i have been working on one in my shop. the alarm moddule is inside the dash behind the light switch and has a 10 pin connector and a 6 pin connector. this can be bypassed if you disconnect both connectors and jump the two large wire on the 6 pin connectors, these wires operate your starter. the car will start and run but your alarm will no longer be active. the door locks and everthing else will still work. the only issue i am having is the factory radio isn't working because it is controlled by the alarm. but worse case scenario i can use an aftermarket radio if need be.
