2003 Nissan Altima 2.5L Service Engine Soon Light is on, Auto Zone says codes are for MAF and O2 Sensors. Car hard to start after driving a while but when starts appears to run smooth. Auto Zone thinks that maybe it is the Fuel Pump due to the Codes, engine running lean?
Ok lets start with the codes they say your getting. P??? which 1's and how many. there are few o2 sensors, are they next to the Exhaust next to the converter? MASS AIR FLOW -MAF use this, for now i am guessing, until i see the correct codes your are getting. this could be the 1 you may have below, please read it........
2003 NISSAN Altima Sedan OBDII Codes List

Testimonial: "The code that came up is P0300 with these Definitions: Randum cylinder misfire detected; Probable cause: Ignition system fault, Fuel system Fault, Large vacuum leak, AF/HO2S (Air-Fuel/Heated oxygen sensor), sensor fault. Car runs great, bought as a repo with no warranty."
Could be fuel filter, coolant sensor, coolant level, vacuum leak Auto zone are great guys but diagnosing & reading codes are 2 different things. Could be a pump or a MAF too, don't get me wrong. More testing needed.
Could also be the fuel used fuel filter getting blocked or the fuel management processor. if the car is due a service ensure these points are checked with your machanic.

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.

take to dealership , that also is a recall problem with alot of altimas , they need to flush system and check water valve , got mine fixed working great ever since , never hesitate to ask dealership about recalls , they have to fix for free

Take it back to where you had it serviced. They probably simply missed connecting the fuel level sensor. The engine light is probably from a missed emissions hose that goes to the gas tank.

Check the SPARK plug condition, and AIR gap.

SOURCE: 2003 nissan altima airbag blinking
On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. Most systems can only be diagnosed using a scanner designed for the airbag system, however some use flash codes to indicate the problem. The scanners at Auto Zone or the ones that sell for @ $50 will not access the airbag system, only the engine systems (check engine light).
This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting some systems without a scanner. Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate that (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) and some require a scan tool. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/
