Most radiators have a drain plug on the bottom tank the engine block also has a drain plug . Remove the radiator cap ,open both drains ,let all the coolant run out, if there is no radiator plug remove the lower hose , remove the heater demister hoses, with the heater control on hot flush out all the coolant from the heater radiator. with a garden hose, till the water runs clean, tighten the radiator plug or re fit the hose, put a garden hose into the radiator and flush out till the water at the block plug runs clean ,refit the heater hoses, refit the block plug, fill the radiator from the hose leave the cap off , If it has a overflow tank clean and flush it. start and run engine for 5 minutes top up radiator if needed . stop engine and drain out all water. most important that all old coolant is drained out, only buy the best coolant you can . If you make up your own use only distilled water. keep some to top up with never mix with another brand. Fill radiator with coolant top up over flow tank, run engine top up coolant as needed, refit radiator cap run for another 10 minutes check for leaks,

I have a 2000 Ford Escort zx2 and I have transmission fluid going into my radiator and my car won't move, how do I fix that?

The transmission cooler has broken inside of your radiator. You will either have to replace the radiator or add a cooler. (I would replace radiator) flush cooling system and I would also do a transmission service just in case the antifreeze leaked back into the transmission while not running. NOTE:Your transmission level would be down do to it pumping into the radiator cooling system. Fill transmission to proper level running and see if it wants to work, before replacing radiator as you could have damaged the transmission by letting it run out of ATF.

What are the 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500 diesel antifreeze change instructions

Remove the radiator cap.
Remove the radiator drain bung from the bottom of the radiator.

Drain fluid into a container.

If no fluid present, then refill radiator and perform a system pressure check.

Once all fluid has been drained, and any faults repaired, then refil with a 50-50 water to anti freeze mixture.

Radiator

Not the radiator is your problem. loosing coolant without leak the thermostat is the problem.
Check your engine thermostat if it is working and if it is not, replace.
it is located at right side of the radiator which connected to the engine, follow the radiator hose.

How do I change the coolant in a 2000 chev silverado

Some radiator have a valve located near the bottom of the radiator on the side facing the engine . If there is no valve just disconnect the radiator hose that is connected to the bottom of the radiator .If you want to change this fluid completely you may have to repeat the process after you replace the fluid in the radiator and you have driven the car for a while because otherwise all you would be replacing is the fluid in the radiator !

I have a 1999 dodge ram with 171k miles on it. just recently i noticed the traqnsmission slipping i checked the fluid and it was low. i added the fluid it helped for a little while but then the same thing...

Yes, it could be leaking into the radiator from transmission cooler in the radiator. I would flush as much of that out as you can and replace the radiator, the anti-freeze is very damaging to your transmission.

I have oil in radiator ,transmission slips

Does the oil in the radiator look reddish? likely it does...You most likely have a failure inside the radiator where the trans cooler coil runs through it. Replace radiator and have trans fluid changed and flushed. If slipping continues trans will need a rebuild. (hope not)
