Seal and retaining ring on vacuum can
SOURCE: headlights move up/down-loose retainers on bottom
2 of my 3 2005 Malibus had this issue. Even though the top nut seems tightened, the bulb is a bit forward in the assembly. Try loosening the nut and pushing the bulb back all the way and then re-tighten the nut. If that doesn't work, then the other quick fix is with the tabs on the bottom of the assembly that drop into loose fitting slots on the grill frame. I used some rubber washer/grommets on the tabs to make the tabs fit tightly into the receiving slots so the bulb can't move about.

That's all you need to do. They can be a pain in the rear. Make sure it is going down all of the way around and not at an angle. There is a special tool to do it. But you don't need it, I just found out about it while I was in class for training. I have always just used two small flat bladed screw driver.

SOURCE: how to remove the retaining clip on the brake
Bear with me on this. It's a relatively simple clip (once you know how to remove them) but somewhat difficult to explain properly via the internet. But here goes. It may help if you draw it like this:
On a piece of paper draw a half inch line (don't lift the pencil/pen) up to down. Go right an inch and a half, down 1/16, left 1 1/4, down 1/8. Place the eraser end of the pencil to right of the 1/8 up against the 1 1/4. Got it?
Should form a type of a "T". Insert a flat screwdriver between the top of the pencil and the clip. If you twist the screwdriver it will lift the 1/8 part of the clip over the eraser permitting you to slide the clip off the shaft.
All I could think of...Hope that helps. Thanks for using FixYa.
