The best way to remove it is to follow clear instructions using a Haynes Workshop Manual. I have bought these manuals for all of the cars I have owned over the years, they are a great way to plan how the repair or replacement will proceed and what tools you might require. They also prepare you for possible areas to wacth for when removing items to avoid injury to yourself or further damage to your car. All procedures are marked in 'number of spanners' to show the difficulty level involved.
I have replaced rear wiper motors in the past. It is fairly straightforward but The Haynes Manual will be the best $20 you spend.
No there is not just one ,the rear has it's own fuse an relay . Fuse J - 20a in ( PDC ) power distribution center , relay should be in same box ! sorry don't have location number , can't find it !
It looks like the 97-2003 are similar.
It is above the passenger footwell, next to the glove compartment.
Here is a video that should make the location pretty clear:
Hello John---On the 2000 Durango the resistor should be directly underneath the passenger side glovebox. So if
you look directly up from underneath the passenger floor, you should see the
long skinny rectangular wiring harness with one -8mm screw on each end...A 1/4" drive ratchet with extension and swivel joint will make it easier to reach and remove. A new resistor is a dealer item only i believe, that costs about $18...I hope this helps...good luck with your Durango.
It is located very near the blower motor, the blower motor keeps it cool,it has multi wires going to the connector on the blower resister, and mounts on the blower box,but actually goes inside the blower box
