SOURCE: can not remove rear axle on chevy avalanche 4x4 1500.

you will need to take off the differential cover (drain and change diff oil at this time)

rotate the axle so that you can get at the cross pin and remove it by undoing a small bolt that holds it in place. it should slide out with ease, but i have had them stick, take care not to let the cross pin get lodged where it is difficult to extract

a single C-clip is holding each axle inside the differential housing

you will need to push in from the outer end of the axle, while simultaneously manipulating the C-clip off of the inner axle, repeat this same process on the other side

i will put some of pics up in a minute

Chevy shifts hard

The cable might be worn and frayed when the cable gets near the park position. You might need to replace the cable or check the linkage on the transmission.

2002 Chevy Avalanche - key won't turn. It appears locked. Turned the steering wheel far to the left and fright and nothing.

You avalanche may be in security mode. If this is the case, you will have to call the dealership and get the code. If that is not the case, you have a bad ignition. You will have to change your ignition box and lock cylinder. Make sure your shifter is all the way up, just in case the cable broke.

Just replaced shift linkage cable in 97 chevy 4x4 1500 truck. shift lever will go through all gears when manually moved by hand, but shifter on column won't go into 1 or 2. Shifter seems to bottom out on...

Hi, Well those shift cables have a slight adjustment at the trans. When I replaced the cable on my 96 i had to adjust it slightly. But before you adjust it make sure that the cable is routed the same way that it came out, if the cable is kinked or bent in any place it can cause it to bind and not go all the way down. Hope that helps

How do you remove the rear rotors on a chevy avalanche 4x4 the rotor is stuck and won't come off.Is there a trick to it? I've tried hammer and prying it.

Well with the rotors on the rear you still have a drum with brake shoes in the middle for your E-Brake.Think you have to back off the parking brake nut at the equalizer(one cable into two) to get slack in the cable to back off the shoes inside.Well hope this helped and good luck.

08 avalanche pass side power door lock not working

if you have any knowledge of automotivce electrical, (and that you need to use a "circuit tester" and not a test light) test for power when someone presses the button. it wouldnt be uncommon for most vehicles for the lock actuator/solenoid/duty actuator to wear out, get weak and fail. this is most probable. given that this is an 08, have you checked withe dealer to see if its still under warranty. if we are only talking a few miles and they wont do anything, look in your owners handbook and get the 1 800 number and get GM's customer service involved. cheers.

Chevy Avalanche GPS makes constant sounds

This is the GM bulletin for your problem: 06-08-44-034C.

You need to have your truck compared to another of the same type. If yours is louder it should be replaced.
