Since you didn't say what engine you have, I am assuming it to be a 3.7 L. Code P2305 is set for insufficient ionization of the #2 coil. 1. Inspect the spark plugs for correct application, these should have NGK platinum spark plugs installed. Inspect the plugs for any signs of misfiring, such as carbon tracking on the spark plug insulator or the coil boot. Inspect for cracked spark plugs or incorrect gap. Inspect for any kind of fouling on the spark plugs. Replace the spark plugs or the coils as needed.

2. Verify the wiring is not shorted to ground from the coils to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

3. Keep in mind that anything that can affect the air fuel mixture can cause this code to set. Be SURE that there are NO vacuum leaks, the injector is not at fault, etc. Moving parts one at a time (spark plug; coil; injector) to "known good" cylinders is the best way to diagnose this trouble code.

SOURCE: engine check light

It means that it didn't receive a signal from the transmision module.
Have your transmission control module checked.

To reset your engine codes:
Remove the negative terminal of your battery (10mm wrench).
Turn your ignition key to START and hold it there for about 15 seconds.
Turn your ignition key to OFF and remove it.
Connect the negative terminal of your battery.

SOURCE: limp mode?

It may have a "loss of prime" code that usually follows a service of the fluid and filter. After you're sure the fluid is full at operating temperature, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect to see if the code resets. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: cylinder 1 misfire

If it smooths out at wide open throttle it's probably not the injector but rather a substantial vacuum leak at that cylinder.

My 1998 dodge durango slt wont drive past 40 miles an hour

Hello Jeff Winner,

Over the last 20 years ... cars have has a LIMITED OPERATION FEATURE added... When the engine READS something that is not IMMEDIATELY catastrophic... it will allow you to
LIMP home... rather than a complete shut down.

Limp mode:
You SHOULD also have a CHECK ENGINE light... (?)

My best advice is to limp on down to your near-by FREE code reading shop... and have a READER tell you what CODES are registered...

A blocked exhaust system will also seriously SLOW your progress
((soon to stop all-together)).

Hope this helps

Check you exhaust prices BEFORE you go...!!

Why nissan xterra shuts off? driving about 50-60 mph and engine shuts off it does starts fine

It's probably in limp home mode. Check RPM dial most likely wont go past 2500-3000 RPM in any gear. This is for safety when the ECU find's almost any fault it will cut the engine to save damage. Get the ECU checked for fault's fix reset and it should run properly

I'm getting the engine light coming every so often. It seems that after I fill the tank and get down around 3/4 tank, The message I'm getting is "EVAP Emission Control System Purge Flow Fault". PO441 and...

I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 dual overhead cam. When driving down the road, bell goes off, check engine light comes on, and it's like I'm driving on limp mode, when going over 2000 rpm's, there's a severe stutter. After getting code for light it points to cam shaft sensor, which i changed. I also changed crank shaft sensor. After all of this was done, drove great for about 30 miles and the same thing happened all over again. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Engine light came on, doesn't up-shift

The transmission is in limp in mode. The check engine light is on because the transmission controller told the engine controller to turn it on. You will have to get the fault codes checked to diagnose the problem. Expect to find a P0700 code in the engine controller. Thats the code for a transmission fault in the trans controller. It could be as simple as an input speed sensor or as complexed as an internal failure. Either way have the transmission fault codes checked for a proper diagnosis.
