SOURCE: How can I remove front row seat headrest?

Most volvo headrest can be removed by releasing the catches which are on the back of the headrest on some models and on the front on others I believe on 960 they are on the back. To release the seat on a 960 look where the shafts should be then follow it down on the back where the seat back top stops then goes in press around that area you should be able to find the catch there pull up on the headrest while releasing the catch you have to do this on both sides. The headrest should come off this also works on 740 and 760 series the volvo 780 is a different story the only way to get the headrest off on that is to disassemble the seat

SOURCE: can't reinstall 3rd row seat 98 toyota sienna

These seats are hard to get in and out, especially if the receiver hook on the floor has any obstruction; so first thing is to clear out anything that may be interfering with the seat from properly seating in the front hooks.

This fix applies to seats that are stuck and won't come out as well as seats that won't go back in.

Each seat has two levers on their back, marked; one for 'tumble' and the other for remove. Problem is, if you press the 'tumble' lever when the seat is out it may not let you replace the seat without first holding BOTH levers up while pushing the seat back into place, then pushing the seat DOWNWARD to reset the mechanism for tumble. Then, push the seat down so that the locking mechanism for tumble (a black lever under and on the drivers side of the seat).

If the receiver hooks are clear and the seat retainer mechanism is properly set you will be able to push the seat in and press down on the back of the seat and hear a very satisfying thunk that lets you know the seat is properly locked in.

These seats can handle quite a bit of shoving and jamming, and you may just have to work it hard to get them back into place.

SOURCE: need to torque cylinder head on a toyota land

Refer to the diagram and torque bolts in sequence as shown in 3 passes. Bolt thread should be lightly oiled. Bolt holes clean of dirt.

suzman_49.jpg
1st pass : 39 N.m. (29ft lb)
Make a mark on the bolt with white-out/chalk or similar in the forward facing edge of the bolt.(see diagram)

suzman_56.jpg
2nd pass : turn bolt through 90 degrees
3rd pass : turn bolt through a further 90 degrees.
Using a mark on the bolt makes it easier to keep track of where in the sequence you are.

How to remove 3rd row seats in Ford territory

The 3rd row seats are simply bolted down from inside the vehicle. With the 3rd row seats in the UP position and the 2nd row seats in the DOWN position, (easier access), you can access a set of nuts on threaded pins coming up through the floor. They are positioned down the sides of the seat base between the cushion and the actual side of the vehicle. A really long extension bar helps here. There should be 4 nuts, 2 each side, and another one each side for the seat belt bottom anchor point. Remove these nuts and the seat should lift up and out of the back of the vehicle.
**CAUTION** These seats are ridiculously heavy so get a helper to lift them out.

I want 3rd row seats.

As a Auto body tech. Yes it is possible. It will take alot of work. You have a few ways to do this but it will take alot of modification. Find a third row seat and take it to a welding shop or apolestry shop and have a bracket built to bolt the seat down to the floor. Then take it to a body shop and have them drill the floor and install the seat. Or if you wish to tackle this on your own Good luck.

2004 toyota highlander -

Most dealers will not perform this service, as they become the "final stage manufacturer", and what that means is THEY would be responsible for any claims (liability) that may arise from an accident. Toyota does NOT recommend adding seats, nor do they recommend changing seat types (buckets vs bench). Note that the vehicle is designed with the specific seating positions in mind. To add a 3rd row seat, you would also have to install the proper seatbelts, and secure the 3rd row seats in a fashion that meets NHTSA specifications.
In short, and I apologize for this, please refrain from doing it.
