I hear a gurgling sound behind my dashboard (sometimes) when I start my 00 Subaru Outback. I usually only hear it when its warming up. Could it be the heat core/coil? I just recently over heated (radiator was flushed 2 months ago on a routine service) and am trying to rule out other possibilities before I start worrying about the head gaskets. Thoughts?

That is air going through your heater core when your engine is cold start it up remove radiator cap turn on heater and keep filling radiator until it wont take anymore check it again tomorrow if it is low again get a pressure tester and you will have to find the leak if you cant see it dripping when it is pressured up or hot from runnung a while it might be a head gasket
to check this with cold motor remove rad cap and run motor till warm and look for small bubbles coming out of radiator

How to diagnose and replace o2 sensors on a 1998 Lincoln Town Car

Well the O2 sensors would not make any noise you could hear inside the car.
And if one of the sensors fails, you should get a check engine light.

How to bleed a subaru outback cooling system

Sounds like the thermostat is NOT functioning, since when its removed you can (apparently) fill the system. So ... replace the thermostat.

Bleed the system as follows:

1. Fill the radiator. Put on the cap, then squeeze the top hose 6 times. You'll likely hear some coolant gurgling.

2. Remove the cap, top up again.

3. Start the engine and let it idle. In about 5 minutes or less, the thermostat will open and the coolant level will lower. Turn off the engine. Go to Step #1.

4. You likely need to do this 2 or 3 times, till the gurgling stops, and you are done.

I laugh because my wife use to park under a tree and the ants nested in manyof the relays and shut the vehicle down. towed it and was scratchin my head before I figure out what happened. I think the first step is getting rid of the pests. Then get in there and clean it up.
