Engine managment light flashes when starting engine stops

You can't bypass it Cherie, it involves transponder chips, receivers and the engine computer (ECM).. The anti-theft system is there to stop theft of the vehicle, basically what you are trying to do. You have to fix the system, not find a way around it. This is the reset. As long as you battery is good and fully charged, it should only need doing once.

Just leave the key in the run position and the "Theft System " light on the dash will be flashing. Leave the key on for about 10 minutes and the light will stop flashing and go on solid. Then the theft system is disable.

You have an engine ceasure. I am sure you had a knock which you could not hear for some reason. Remoce crankshaft . regrind and replace barings.

the car is going into limp mode due to an engine management fault. have to check what the fault is with a code reader. if the milage is high 100,000+ could be a turbo fault (overboosting), as this will put the car into limp mode.

Most local parts stores like Autozone or Advance auto will check the trouble codes for free and help you get the parts you need to fix whatever is causing the engine light to come on.

Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on. If it is a pass lock system just turn the key to the on position, but do not start the engine and wait 10 minutes until the light stops flashing. Then turn it off and restart it. It should go away. If the light is not flashing in the first place then I don't know.

turn the key on and try to start the engine it should start than stall, leave the ignition on for approx 10 min the security light will flash when it stops flashing turn the car off and then repeat this procedure after the third try the theft system will attempt to relearn the security data, if it is valid it will then start if not you will nee someone with a tech 2 scanner (gm shop) to help you out
