The problem is in the loom in the steering wheel, it requires removal of the airbag and a new wheel loom to be fitted. The loom costs about £15.00 I think.

It will be the sender unit on the fuel tank that is faulty, probably best to let a garage replace it as the fuel tank may have to be drained and removed to allow access to the sender unit.

I'v got the same problem, I found @ the menual : 21 Left sidelight failure , which is true , some times the rear left side light is off
I've tried to remove the lamp and put it back, and every thing is ok
