SOURCE: how to remove the panel

common problem for w124s the blower motor is seized or just fried
you can get used ones for around $50 to $75 or pay about $150 for a new one you say the fuses are ok but the fuse for the blower motor is not in the fusebox according to the schematic on my 88 fuse cover lid I'm almost 99% sure it's your blower fan motor because they all die sooner than later.

here is the fix it is not real easy then again not rocket science either

http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/W124BlowerMotor

if you are pretty fair at do it yourself then you might be ok

I'm paying a guy $150 to replace mine (labor only) because there's too many things that could go wrong if I tried this myself

SOURCE: Steps to remove radio

  • Step 1:Disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal. Position the cable to is doesn't come in contact with any metal parts.

  • Step 2:Pull out the ashtray and remove the two screws that connect the bezel around the radio. Pull off the climate control knobs and remove the two screws at the top of the bezel trim.

  • Step 3:Remove the trim and disconnecting any wires. Not all models will have connecting wires on the trim.

  • Step 4:Locate the two screws, one on each side of the Hyundai Santa Fe stereo, and pull the head unit out of the dash. Disconnect the wires behind the radio.

SOURCE: 2006 maxima - dash &a/c controls quit after

    Bryan_you44,
I too had an issue with the dash controls, cruise ctrl, no speedometer. It happened all of a sudden on way back from Chicago. I think you may have the same issue. I put some change on the console in front of the display, which pretty much screams "PLACE STUFF HERE". Guess what, DON"T DO THAT!!!!. I had a dime lose it's way into the back of the display and shorted the whole Freakin thing out. $650 to repair.

I need to installl a cd player in my car and i cant get the thing that holds the radio and heater off.

You will have to remove the dash cover to gain access to that bezel piece. That bezel actually extends around the instrument cluster and and radio area, all one piece. The dash cover is held on by a series of torx screws located under the top defrost vent, side access panels (when you open the car doors, there is a panel on each side). In the glove box area and there are two 10 mm bolts that are tucked up under in the glove box area but accessible. After you remove the dash cover, you can remove the torx screws that hold the bezel in place. On the bezel down by the radio, there are spring clips that hold that part of the bezel. Remember when replacing the stock OEM radio, you will need to buy a mounting hardware kit, wiring harness kit and antenna kit for the Cavalier that will work with your new cd player.

    Replacing the front light beam?

Assuming that you have a TJ with round sealed beam lights, you must remove the chrome bezel that covers the four removal screws that hold the light in place. Remove the four screws, pull back the ring that holds the light in, and separate the light from the ring. Pull off the plug (gently) from the back of the light and there you have it.Installation is the reverse of removal. Lights cost about $10-$15 ea. depends on where you get them.

How do you remove the stock radio from a 2007 accent hatchback

First, you have to remove the bezel that surrounds the radio. You have to find something thin and sturdy to slide in behind the bezel to carefully pry it away from the dash assembly. Something along the lines of a plastic spackling knife will prevent scratching the dash. There are no screws, only clips holding that bezel in place.

Once you remove the bezel, you will see four screws holding the stock radio in place. Remove those, then slide the radio out.

You will need to unplug the wiring and antenna from the rear of the unit for complete removal.
