What is the reason for this: Chevy Cruze ignition locks and key cannot be removed?

Most likely the shift neutral park switch is not engaging the ign lock solenoid

SOURCE: 2012 chevy cruze no charge

Disconnect battery while car is running. If car dies altenator is bad. With car not running check battery with volt meter. Should read 12 to 12.46 without engine running. Start car and check battery with volt meter, should read 13 to 13.50. If less than 12 with engine running then altenator is no good.

It sounds like the antitheft system has become activated for some reason. Did you disconnect the battery? Let it go flat?

How do you reset a Chevy Cruze theft deterrent system? Press the unlock button, get out of the car, but leave the door open, then press the lock button on the door, and shut it. Simple as that.

Try lil dab of job weld on something that fits and let dry...might work..might not...sounds good tho...lol

How do you reset anti theft on 2013 chevy cruze

Key on but dont start
press the reset button near the pedal for 5s until light disapper
remove key
press lock unlock using manual button on door.
press lock unlock button on key while inside the car
unlock again using key
insert key and fire.
