P0300 code reading on Chevy aveo. Engine light flashes and stays solid intermittently. While driving on the freeway, engine suddenly cut off. Tried to restart. Could hear the starter turning but engine would not respond. After a few minutes engine started, but engine light was still on.

Pull out your spark plugs. Change them if dirty. There might be a problem with the fuel trim, thats causing spark plug to foul up prematurely. A stucked open EGR valve can also cause a multiple mispfire code(P0300) but then it would be accompanied by an EGR code(P402) which means excessive flow detected. Anyways if was indeed a fouled up spark plug change them as well as the air filter.

P0300 usually means Random misfire
check plugs, wires The engine control module (ECM) uses information from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor in order to determine when an engine misfire is occurring. By monitoring variations in the crankshaft rotation speed for each cylinder, the ECM is able to detect individual misfire events. A misfire rate that is high enough can cause overheating and damage to the 3-way catalyc converter under certain driving conditions. The malfunction indicator lamp will flash ON and OFF when the conditions for TWC damage are present. If the ECM detects a misfire rate sufficient to cause emission levels to exceed a predetermined value, DTC P0300 sets

Excessive vibration from sources other than the engine could cause DTC P0300 to set. The following are possible sources of vibration:

  • A tire or wheel that is out of round or out of balance
  • Variable thickness brake rotors
  • A unbalanced or damaged driveline condition
  • Certain rough road conditions
  • Worn or damaged accessory drive component or belt

IF YOU HAVE ATTEMPTED EVERYTHING ON THE LIST TO FIX THE P0300 YOU MIGHT TRY WHAT I DID TO ACTUALLY FIX MINE.HOOK UP THE TECH 2 AND DO A CRANK CAM CORRELATION .I HAD A P0300 ON A BRAND NEW GM CRATE ENGINE THAT CAME WITH ALL SENSORS COILS PLUGS INTAKE THROTTLE BODY ETC. THE CORRELATION PROCEDURE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD FIX IT.

2000 Isuzu trooper has intermittent flashing check engine light. Usually occurs during first 15 miles of driving. Not a hard skip but, low power.

Take this to an auto parts store and have the codes read. Then you will know exactly what the problem is. And just an FYI, if the check engine light is flashing, you should stop driving it as the computer believes that the problem can damage the vehicle. If the check engine light is on solid and not flashing, this is a less serious problem, but still should be looked at.

Ignition modules fail quite often causing all sorts of hard to find faults. Parts stores can test these so start there. Have you read the codes set? That may give a clue.

2006 Chevrolet Aveo engine dash light on/off intermittently

If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.
A solid light can mean anything.

This light comes on when the computer detects a fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this issue, the light will remain off. If the light turns off, then it has detected that the issue may no longer be present.

In order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have caused the light to initially go on
