Saab 2005 9-3 problems

I got in and the ignition would not turn so it would not crank. I think there is a switch somewhere for the ignition but I don't know where it is.

My 2005 Ford Mustang cranks but engine wont turn over. could it be fuse or is it my fuel pump/

the engine is cranking, turning over but not starting
unlikely to be a fuel pump
run the fault codes and look for crank/cam position senor problems , ignition control module problems, ignition switch problems

Saab 900s

I assume you've checked the battery and it's connections. Next I would look for a fuse or fuse link that feeds the ignition switch. If that is okay, it points to the ignition switch and it's wiring. I hope this steers you in the right direction.

Is it the fly wheel or the starter

If the starter is left in the engaged position ( trying to start the engine) the first thing to fail will be the pinion over-ride clutch and then the armature wires melt out and the starter is dead.. If it costs you a new starter motor that will be an expensive lesson for you to fix problems when they occur and not leave it for RON (lat-er -RON)

Key turns fine. Car won't turn on. Won't even crank. Sometimes pushing key further into the ignition switch with a bit of pressure helps. Battery is one year old.

What you are saying is the key switch is worn out, and there is a separate problem with the engine performance.
Either an import shop or the dealer are your options here.

Blowers constantly blowing even without key in the ignition

You definitely have a short somewhere in the circuit. I dont know if its in the air speed control knob, the fan motor, the key switch, or a relay somewhere. If the fan kept blowing even after you removed the fuse, my first guess would be somewhere under the hood in a relay, or the key switch. Because everything usually turns off when you turn off the ignition key. But I am no Saab expert and electrical issues are a real pain, no matter what the make of car.
I have had that problem with a car before and ended up, putting a on/off switch in the blower motor power wire and just turned it off and on that way when I needed it. Not really the true solution, but it worked for my 25 year old car at the time. Good Luck!

I am getting power ,but it will not crank when I turn the key

It sounds like it is your ignition switch, based on your description. I would start there. That would also explain why it's not kicking all the way to initiate the starter.

I have a 1996 Saab 900 S. The ignition switch is bad (in this case just the spring on the key won't return to the "ON" postion after starting the car so i manually turn it back). I replaced the switch with...

I have the same problem and my excellent Saab car mechanic told me to pull the switch and bring it to him so we can get the exact part number. That may be your problem. My problem is getting the part out of my car (has manual transmission).
