Fix jammed window - 2003 Dodge Caravan

you off the door card on door
then hot wire the motor.
if the windows jammed, doing so will fail.
if jammed fix that next.

donot force the power windows if they arent working.The motor inside the door that operates the motor probably is jammed.The fuse must be behind the glove compartment near ECU fuse panel.if the Window fuse is bad then put a new one of the same rating.If that goes bad too, you need to check for three things.first check the window panel if it isnt short.if thats ok then you should check the window motors they are probably jammed and are putting too much load on the fuse to operate.lube them with WD 40 , also the window channels.if the problem fixes nothing to be done further.if fuse go bad again , you need to check the window panel wiring that might probably be short at some point.

jamming a rubber wedge in it.take trim off,and use piece of wood to hold window.see if window winder bolts come out

You should be able to fix it yourself by carefully taking the inside of the door off. If you have power windows, your window actuator has gone bad which happens often in Chrysler vehicles, and will need to be replaced. if only one window is not working forget the fuse idea, the problem is most lkely the window lift motor inside the door.

It maybe the track guide clip has broken or the track bolt fell out, or the guide is out of adjustment. The door panel will probally have two be removed and checked for operation and any missing or broken or bent parts.

Look in the door jam. my friends truck had the same problem the wire that goes through the rubber hose lookin thing in the door jam broke and then we fixed it and they worked.

you will have to replace the power window motor. but first have you checked the fuses and the motor relays?

I work on alot of broken power windows. The biggest cause of windows not working properly are the bearings in the gear assembly. The manufacturers use plastic bearings and they wear out and turn to dust. Or break into pieces and jam the assembly up. Open the gear assembly(attached to window motor) and see if the bearings are either falling apart or a part has broken off and is jamming the assembly. These bearings can be replaced with the same bearings used on most passenger car wheel bearings. I hope this is your problem because its and easy fix.
