I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan where both keys are in rough shape and now when I go to start the van the keys are reading "basket"????? Help do I have to buy the whole key fob assembly OR just buy new keys and get them programmed?!?
this sounds like the key may be bad, try a spare key and if message doesnt appear then key is bad, if message returns with spare key then you may need programing of the body module. most of the time its just a worn key chip.
If you boot for a few seconds and shuts down and gives you bad
key problem could be the immobilizer which has the function to recognize
the key and connect the engine computer which can be resolved by
reprogramming the key. Thanks
its probaly the key swicth worn or a bad key also dont have alot of keys on your key chain it causes the key to **** in the lockand then it cant line up the correct tumblers for they security sytem to get the correct reading for the car to start. also have the charging system checked for amprege output should be around 100 amps at max output. hope this helps.
