I have a 96 s10 sonoma 5speed i went to shift to third gear and its stuck. even in neutral it still in third gear. What do i need done ?

Did you try to pop the clutch? Did you mistakenly down-shift while still at high speed? did you try to down-shift for more torque while going uphill? You may have ruined your clutch.

96 chevy s10 stuck in park

Sounds like a bent linkage or needs adjustmentent.
I think there is a rod that goes from the shifter to the transmission and this will have a set-screw which allows you to set the travel distance. Sounds liike it's bent or moved. If i'ts a cable then the cable is frayed [probably near the shift stick.

I have a 96 chevy s10 with an automatic transmission. It shifts hard through the first gear then when i push the gass real hard to get on the high the truck shifts out of gear and wonnt shift into the next...

sounds like to me its in high line, if you pop the hood you will see where the throttle cable hooks up, the transmission line should be right beside it. see if its unhooked, if not pull the slip out of it and adjust it forward or back a little, you will be able to tell the difference in thifts.. but sounds like the cable came unhooked, or broke.

Right side. For any car, just follow the large positive battery cable, it always ends at the starter.
