Did you try to pop the clutch? Did you mistakenly down-shift while still at high speed? did you try to down-shift for more torque while going uphill? You may have ruined your clutch.
Sounds like a bent linkage or needs adjustmentent.
I think there is a rod that goes from the shifter to the transmission and this will have a set-screw which allows you to set the travel distance. Sounds liike it's bent or moved. If i'ts a cable then the cable is frayed [probably near the shift stick.
remove the neg cable from the battery and put a test light between the battery and the cable remove fuses until the light dims then look at the circuit that dims it also unplug the alternator that will do it to
sounds like to me its in high line, if you pop the hood you will see where the throttle cable hooks up, the transmission line should be right beside it. see if its unhooked, if not pull the slip out of it and adjust it forward or back a little, you will be able to tell the difference in thifts.. but sounds like the cable came unhooked, or broke.
