What does ERR 33 mean in relation to the sound system? CD stopped playing, would not eject. Could not get radio either. Automatically ejected after a few minutes and showed ERR 33 code on display. Made a whirring sound as if trying to play CD. Smelled like it was burning. I pulled fuse. CD player is single, not changer. 2003 Highlander V6, nothing special on it.

my dads toyota 4runner was doing the same thing we found it easier to just drop in a new deck from canadian tire

If you are using "home-made" or "burnt" CDs, this can happen. Sometimes, you can remove the radio from the dash, and unplug it. That may reset the CD player, and the discs will eject.
It works for me about 85% of the time. Hope this helps.

U don't have to remove anything, just get a laser lens cleaning disk from any store that carries music CD's Walmart has them for about $6
SOURCE: 2003 toyota sequoia radio error code 1.will not
Error one indicates a bad laser pickup, or a calibration issue. I would recommend a CD cleaner, but, if that does not help, the radio will need to be taken to an authorized service center. The 01 code is rather common to those radios.
