Clutch switch keeps it from cranking.
You can bypass the cluctch switch. Make double sure transmission is in neutral. On many jeeps, under the hood is fuse/relay box. One of the relays is the starter motor. Pull the relay. With a pair of pliers, take a paper clip and short the pins that go to starter. They wire can get hot. If the starter cranks, you might be right (see ignition switch and any interlocks - like clutch switch), if the starter doesn't crank, get a new starter.

Went to get gas the other day and got back in it and it wont start turn key and it does nothing, we tried jumping it and nothing.. had to tow it home

It won't crank? Have you tried rapping the starter with a hammer-a light tap- to see if it will work? If that works, the starter is going out and needs replaced. Alternatively, take the starter off and have it tested for free at a parts store.

Wont start with key

Do you have a bad starter? also check for loose or dirty battery cables on both ends of cables as the starter does take a lot of pull and a dirty or loose cable won't give it the power to start but will let the lights work.

Turn key wont crank

Possible issues: too many to list

Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key to "START"? If so, I'd say your battery is dead.

Do any of your gauge lights, head lights, radio, etc. work just fine? If so, I'd guess you have a bad ignition, bad coil, or bad starter.

Likely issues:
Dead battery
Bad coil
Bad ignition switch
Bad starter

2003 suzuki wont crank up

what car?, suzuki makes 100s. and what tranny it has.......??????
no crank is cause by only 3 things.
1: bad starting system.
2: bad charging system , making battery dead. or battery is bad.
3: the key line is dead , if A/T? the key line goes through the tranny
PRND switch (side of tranny),. must be in N or P to start.
3a; if manual tranny? the clutch switch fails.

can you start with a jump start?
that means the battery is dead, no charged or bad.
if not, then smack the starter with a hammer ,start now?
if not, hot wire starter, work now?
if not, make sure the Key line to the starter solenoid goes to way above 8v, when you crank, if not the cab wiring is bad.
that means, the key line from ignition switch to the starter is failing.
here's a no crankpage covering all that.

The first thing to do would be to check all fuses. Sometimes a very random blown fuse can cause this. Also unhook the battery for one hour to reset all systems, and try a jump start if you have not just to be sure it isn't a battery issue. Also try locking/unlocking the key driver's door a few times using the key in the door. If the fuses are good and the battery reset does not help, nor a jump or key in the door, then there are a few other things that can cause this such as bad key - try another one, bad brake light switch, the switch is above the brake pedal, shifter not fully in park (auto transmission only) - try moving it around a bit, bad transmission position switch, bad clutch switch, dead starter/solenoid/relay or bad ignition switch/cylinder/start button.

this can be 3 things, if it wont jump and batter is good.
bad connections at battery or starter.
1: bad starter.
2: bad (A/T shift switch) or bad M/T clutch switch.
3 bad ignition switch.
4: bad wire or connections end to and start system.

hot wire the starter solenoid, if car starts (cranks) then its 2 o 3.
