How do you adjust the shift cable on a 1995 gmc jimmy, wont go into reverse or park.

On the 1995 Jimmy, the shift cable can come loose on the mount on the side of the transmission where the cable meets the trans. When it slips, the alignment goes off and causes the driver to not be able to put the trans into park. If you take a long stick you can push the shift arm on the trans to the park position and your trans will go into park.....what you (and I) really need to know is how to take the shift cable mount apart and reset it.

1994 F-150 wont shift when running but clutch is not slipping

Pull the trans, strip it down & replace the worn parts,
like the synco rings, that should be obvious

You don't need the engine running or drive it, to try & shift
through the gears

2004 ford e250 trans wont shift to drive

Ford vans are popular for this. Please try these steps
1. Press all the way down on the brake before attempting to shift again 2. Ensure your steering wheel is not locked in place 3. If your situated on a steep drive way, hill, ***** etc, move your truck manually to a flat starting location 4. Your brake safety actuator is going bad and needs to be changed out 5. Rest assure this is something you can do yourself as long as you have the tools and parts
