Your best bet to get accurate info is to take a ride to a Jeep dealership and ask the parts department counterman to print out the diagram for you. There are a lot of online wiring diagrams for the Grand Cherokee but not the Cherokee.

Have a 1989 Ford Country Squire. The brake lights don't work and the fuse, bulbs and brake pedal switch are all good. Suggestions.

check the earth wire, you will need a meter to check the earthing, or have some one put the brake lights on and using a piece of wire connect it to the earth on the bulb eart side and the shell were good metal is. if this still does not work the bulb you will need to remove the back seats and get to the wiring harness under the seat. and check from there to the bulbs. find the wire live for the bulb you will need to trace the colour from the bulb holder to find the colour as i cannot remember. and use a meter and just slightly pierce the the cable and use the meter to check the wire is good. look for cable damage while looking around the boot. and under the seat. any cracking in the wire cause a break in the wire some were along that wire.

Brake lights not working on a 1995 ford thunderbird. tail lights work fine. cheecked lamps, fuses, and brake switch

Hi, sometimes the simplest of things can become complicated by omiting the theory of how a circuit works, The brake light switch is merely a break in a live wire, some cars are constant live, and others rely on the ignition switch being turned to the on position for the supply to work. You mention you have checked the above have you checked you have 12 volts at the feed wire at the brake light switch, no voltage should be rectified by looking for a secendary fuse or break in the supply, if you have 12 volt supply at the switch, next with the switch disconnected, join together both wires this will allow you to eliminate the switch, if the brake lights illuminate then the switch would be considered faulty, if it does not light move your testing to the rear of the car, at the switch you will observe the colour of the wire feeding the rear brake lights, at the rear of the car observe the wire and check for 12 volts, if not present check for break in wire, sometimes the wire can become damaged in tailgate rubbers etc where amooving part may trap or fracture the wire, it is. Most likely that this is the problem when more than one light does not light , as the rear lights and indicators are working we can assume the earthing to the light is correct, hope this is of help to you paul

The brake lights on My 1998 Dodge Durango will not work, I have checked all the fuses and still do not get power to the light socket when the brake pedal is pushed

you need to check for power at the brake light switch.there should be power all the time on one side of the switch and only power on the other side when the pedal is pushed.the switch is under the dash were the pedal is.i think the orange wire is always hot and the white wire is only hot when you push the pedal.(think this is the wire colour)
