Please i really need help
2007? WK, (i own a 2010 with all docs)
same car.
REDUX
it dont work at all like a 1993, back in the day of running power through switches to run things.,
or with banks of relays, to fail.
every year, less relays like we did long ago in industry, (pure electronics)
i deleted all my fsm quotes.
it's to wordy.. (but accurate to a fault)
it's now networked + brains (puters),
the network map is below.
if you look at said map, the CAN-BUS network.
is a 2 wire, network for all communications
saving a ton of wire. (times all WK made world wide)
What happens is , you turn the switch
and it has this binary/resistance mux logic in the switch that goes to the SCM brain.
the SCM knows what you did, and converts your actions into a data stream, "a command".
to the can-bus.
it arrives, (if lucky)
to the FCM and the cluster brain CCN. (IP)
the cluster sees that and flashes the click sonic device, and flashes the blinker icon, lamps.
If you can't heare that ,this means the command was never arrived.at CCN.
the FCM hears this command and it in turn drives
the blinker bulbs on the 4 external lamps.
does hazards work, that be first fact to know..
and that FCM fuses, must not be bad.
we scan it next. to see if there are errors
on the can-bus.
or FCM sees garbled data
or CCN errors.
or more.... lots more,
or FCM not responding,
the FCM is over $800 so doing the diagnosis correctly can save a lot of cash.
guessing here can exceed $2000.
here are the can-buss signals, (using my scope)
wanna Gue$$ or Test.?
canB and Can C. neworking 101
see blue SW? steering wheel.
left switch on left of SW.?
this feeds (via mux port) to the SCM
steering contr. module.
the scm sees you throw the switch blinks/haz
and then sends that out to the
FCM and also the CCN)custer IP)
The FCM does the work operating vast things.
and lamps.
the FCM uses drivers to drive the blinkers,
drawn in here in left blue. (L and R)
the same commands go to the cluster brain
and it glows its L/R brinker lights'
and the magic sonic clicker, (emulates old school sounds, so driver hears the clicks and turns off blinks.
that is how it works in the least possible words.
scan it, because a new FCM is $800 bucks
and its fuses good.
and there are no U0xxx errors on the CAN bus.
there is TSB recall on FCM. 2007
list of short serials, made.
one is key problem other is FCM failure.
the latter i thinks is 2008 only,
http://www.wkjeeps.com/recalls/recall_h0...
read this first. so you dont think its just
$800 part, add programming.http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/front...
also the removing the module and cleaning the pins might help. (inspections)
if some other module on the can-bus, might interfere with comm's to the FCM
it might not be FCM caused.
that is way we scan first. using a real scan tool. one that can read Can buss errors.
most new tools can.
for example scan code U0xxx
shows, bad message to FCM.
bingo.
random pick, relate:
U0141 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH FCM
the switch is easy to test, with a ohmmeter
a $10 walfart meter.
it has a binary code, and resistor codes
for telling the brain what you selected.
the FSM has table showing that simple code
avoiding the cost of buying the switch.
ask for table
or login to mitchells.
or read the free Fsm posted 300+ times. here.
click WK here, and get it for free.
its the REAL DEAL, not some store rag
http://www.morris4x4center.com/knowledge...
see it?
FCM , = front control module brain
CCN = cluster brain, IP cluster.
SCM = steering control module. brain.
got questions ask. or read the FSM above.
it tells you how all this works.
FSM= factory service manual, or SM.
each brain is micro processor with programming.

Bad flasher relay. Does your hazards work if not replace relay. Get back to me on this

first remave the headlamp and then remove the marker lamp assy.

SOURCE: Can't figure out how to change the bulb for turn signal on Jeep
I just changed both bulbs in my 1998 Grand Cherokee. These solutions made it possible, but i will offer some clarification and photos. First of all, all 4 screws are torx T20 as emoesmoe mentions, none are phillips. there are two bulbs that blink: the larger amber bulb is the turn signal light--dealer was cheaper than autozone and only had to purchase one bulb; the other bulb is called a side marker and it also blinks with a turn but stays on with the headlights. see photos that go along with the first two solutions. the first photo shows step one the first screw to take out. second and third photo are step two removing the second screw. the last photo shows the exposed screws to the turn signal housing after the uper light houseing has been removed:
