Why won't rear door open with remote or front overhead button. does not matter locked or unlocked

i work at a chevy dealership,just had the same problem my fix was to replace the power door lock relay located on drivers side interior fuse block

my 06 tahoe just got this problem...all other doors lock and unlock with the fab and door switch...but the hatch is in permanent locked mode. i cant even unlock the hatch window. why is this happening?
