The turn signal switch and wiper switch are one unit called a Combo switch. The good news is it is easily changed. After opening the column covers it is held to the side of the column with two torque head screws. You don't have to remove the steering wheel.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I'll try to find the part # for that combo switch and try it before storing the car for winter :("

SOURCE: 2004 mustang gt check engine

You need to take it to someone that has a dynostic tester to see what DTC is activating the check engine light. It could be many things.
Autozone will do it for no cost.

I am working on a 2004 GT Mustang. Batery is fine.

Hi, I know this might sound silly but check if the connection to the solenoid is clean and properly secured. The other thing that you also can look at is the earth connection from the battery to the body. If that is all fine, the only thing left is the solenoid.

Battery Light

You probably need a new alternator and battery. If you have a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) Check the Charging system voltage at idle, it should be around 13.2 volts or above for a properly working Alternator. The battery voltage with the car off should be at 12.6 volts for a good battery. Check and replace as neccessary.
