Try this: 1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it up one notch. The dashboard lights will not turn on. 2. Hold down your trip meter button next to the odometer. 3. When you are holding the trip meter button down, turn your key to the next notch. So, the dashboard lights will be on, but the car will not be started. Do not start the car. 4. Continue holding the trip meter button until the light turns off. You have now reset your Maintenance Required, or Maint Reqd, light
1. To reset MAINT reminder light after engine oil replacement, turn ignition switch to OFF position with odometer reading showing. Turn ignition switch to ON position while holding down trip meter RESET button. 2. Hold trip meter RESET button down for at least 5 seconds. Odometer should indicate "000000" and MAINT reminder light goes out.
you need to reset it.
try this ; key on , engine off , if you have trip meter button rapidly press it until odometer displays.
turn key off , press and hold trip meter at the same time put the key on , if you see the bar , wait till it finish reseting(10-15 sec).
if you have reset button do the same with reset button.
In my 2006 RAV4, Set the trip meter to trip A and turn key to OFF. Hold the trip reset down and turn Key to ON (do not start car). Hold for about 5 sec until the trip sets to 00000. Turn to OFF. It should be reset. If my RAV4 manual, it is in the light indicators section.
turn ignition to "on"; set your odomoter trip meter display to trip "A" turn off the ignition; hold down trip reset button while turning ignition back to "on" position; hold the button for around five more seconds until it shows a full display of zeroes (ex. "00000000") light should procede to turn off
The light is just a warning that an oil change is due because 5000 miles has passed. To turn it off, see p. 148 of your manual. In summary, set Trip Meter to "a." Shut off car. Hold down trip meter button while turning car back on with Power Button. Continue to hold down trip button while it resets the light...it takes a couple of seconds.
