is the radiator fan coming on and staying on, or not coming on at all?? i was having the same problem, and it turned out to be a fan relay switch which was pretty easy to replace. around 40 bucks, and maybe 30-45 mins.

SOURCE: Transmission sticking

most people say no to a high mileage transmission flush if it hasnt been done before on the vehicle, I say if it starts to slip then flush it but if it is just sticking whop the old lucas trans mission oil to her! they have it at advanced it should free up those sticky valves! but if you havnt flushed it before now i would'nt
it is believed that over time your transmission fluid gets "gritty" from the clutches wearing , and over time your transmission becomes reliant on that grit to run "smoothly" I've done it and it came out fine but that was due to slipping from thin or burnt transmission fluid,
I would really try an additive to free up the valves before i'd do a flush!

SOURCE: 2005 jeep shimmy

hey, kinda late but, I would check the track bar. With engine running, have someone turn steering wheel back and forth (quarter turns are fine). watch the frame side (should be passenger side for right side drive) for up and down movement. If any is noticed, replace it.

SOURCE: Shaking Stering Wheel in a 2006 Jeep

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler and have been having this problem since I bought it used. I don't have a lift but we have tried everything. The shaking only happens on our when we excelerate or decelerate in the 45 - 50 MPH range. We have gone round and round with the dealership and they are telling us it is the tires we have on it.. and they say that if we replace them it will be ok. We are about to do that and hopefully it helps.

2007 jeep liberty stuck in 4wl, handle moves down but still in 4wl drive

how'd it get there?
driving on hard pavement will in fact get it stuck,
are you on ice or dirt. ?
if on pavement, it will stick on all part time 4wd cars.
its not AWD, so can not be driven on hard pavement.
only ice,snow, dirt.
if on hard pavement move to the dirt side of road and it will now release. this is called windup, and will damage the drive line.
if you keep doing this.

Just replaced inner tie rod and now when start driving it ma;es an ugly sound and pulls hard to right where i got it replaced. Only going 20 mph .cant drive it... Jeep compass 2007. could itbe that it...

the inner tierod may have been put on wrong, but after any steering system parts have been replaced or fixed. it is a good idea to get it relined this is why it pulls so hard. wheels are not in alignment with each other. get it aligned, and all should be ok. if you leave it. it will wear tire down to nothing, really quick. good-dayt !

How do i replace heater blend doors on 1996 jeep grand cherokee

I haven't done one on a 96 before, but have on a 2000, while they are different body styles i assume they are very similar. On the 2000 it required removing the entire dashboard, center console and steering column. Evacuating the A/C system and draining the coolant. And finally removing and disassembling the HVAC box. While your in there take a good look at the heater core and Evaporator as they are somewhat common leak points in their corresponding systems. Won't want to put it all back together to find out a few months down the road that the evaporator is leaking.

What is the service interval for repacking front axle bearings on a Jeep CJ 7?

It depends on how much you drive it and how it is driven. If the vehicle is driven to and from work only, the bearings are good for a couple of years if you are using good bearing grease. If the vehicle is driven to and from work with some mild off roading, then repacking the bearing every Spring would be recommended. If you are driving this through mud and water that is deep enough for the axles to be submerged, then every time this happens, the bearings should be repacked. Hope this helps.

Vehicle hakes when driving 45 to 50 miles per hour

Check wheel balance,
check steering linkages for loosness - such as tie rod ends, steering rack linkages etc,
check driveline for worn/loose joints and bearings.

The steering wheel keeps "migrating" counter-clockwise and the ability to turn left is decreasing while ability to turn right is increasing....

Likely there's a sticking valve in the steering unit...try changing oil, or steering box will need to be replaced or serviced (rebuilt) I've used lucas conditioner with some success on these. (depends on how bad it is...sometimes takes a few days to work though)
