A true manual transmission is exactly that and has no connection to the dash board instruments, other than the speed sensor, which doesn't control the gearbox, but supplies the engine's ECU and dashboard with the relevant vehicle speed information. I can't think of any related reason as to why you should have a related instrument issue and gearbox issue. I would recommend the obvious which is to take the vehicle to an experienced mechanic/technician.

How do you tell if fluid is down in a 2010 Chev Aveo 5 speed transmission

When it becomes difficult to shift from one gear to another.

You can always check by unscrewing the filler port on transmission and seeing if it is filled just to the bottom of the threads

2005 Aveo with manual transmission. Shift lever moves forward when clutch engaged. Transmission stays in gear but lever moves with each clutch engagement. Whats causing this to occur?

The shift rails on the top of the transmission are worn allowing it to slip out of the detents. Check motor mounts and the rear transmission mount too.

I bought a 92 Chev 2500 4X4 from a guy just recently. He said the tranny wont go into gear. I found the transfer case was in neutral. So i put it in gear and away it goes. But reverse seamed sluggish. ...

If your transmission is a 700r4 (4l60) you have a reverse band that engages when you want to go in reverse. since it drives forward your low reverse clutch and your fwd clutch are working. This leaves the band which was probably slipping now is not engaging.

I have no manual for the car, can you tell me where the transmission dipstick is for the 04 chev aveo? and can you change the oil for a manual transmission in this car. Please Sue

There is no dipstick for a manual transmission. It is a drain and fill system that is on the bottem and bottem side of the transmission

The HOLD LIGHT CAME ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHAT COULD THAT MEAN? It is a 2005 chev. aveo with 28,000 miles

There is a hold button on the shifter or the console. When activated the transmission is locked into the selected gear and the hold light will come on.

An example is putting the transmission in 4th gear, pushing the hold button, and taking off in the snow. Wheel slip would be limited.

You will need the check engine light code read with a scanner and diagnosed.

How do you change the manual transmission fluid in a 2006 chevy aveo?

Hello,

In a manual car you do not change or flush the transmission fluid. the only fluid you change is the gear oil for the clutch. The manual transmissions do not have the ability to be flushed or changed as it does not have the same internals as an automatic transmission

Cheers!
